In November 2015, The Eagles announced the postponement of their appearance at the Kennedy Center Honors because Glenn Frey had to undergo surgery and needed a long recovery period. He never had the surgery because of pneumonia and was in a medically induced coma at Columbia University Medical Center. He died on January 18, 2016 from complications brought about by rheumatoid arthritis, acute ulcerative colitis, and pneumonia.
