Michael Lang, the founder and promoter of the Woodstock Music Festival&nbsp;died on Jan. 8 from a rare illness. Although the original Woodstock was a logistical disaster and money pit, the image of the show softened over time as its place in music and cultural history became more important. After years of rumors concerning his health, Eddie Van Halen passed away on October 6, 2020 at the age of 65. He died of stroke at Saint John\u2019s Health Center in Santa Monica, California. Cream\u2019s resident virtuoso behind the kit was widely recognized as one of the greatest drummers of all time with his work on \u201cToad\u201d often cited as his finest moment.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>(Aug. 22, 1939 \u2014 Aug. 30, 2019)\u00a0Harper started out as a dancer on Broadway before finding fame as Mary Tyler Moore&#8217;s bestie, Rhoda, from 1970 to 1974.<\/li>\n<li>However a few months later, it was announced that his cancer was back.<\/li>\n<li>(March 26, 1931 \u2014 Feb. 27, 2015)\u00a0He was Spock, the pointy-eared human\/Vulcan who was the voice of reason on the Starship\u00a0Enterprise.<\/li>\n<li>Guitarist and songwriter with 70s punks The Dictators and garage rockers The Del-Lords.<\/li>\n<li>Music stars including Willie Nelson and Jakob Dylan have just come out with a tribute album,\u00a0For Real \u2014 For Tom,\u00a0featuring covers of Petty&#8217;s tunes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Cynthia Weil (October 18, 1940 \u2013 June 1,<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class='aligncenter' style='display: block;margin-left:auto;margin-right:auto;' src=\"https:\/\/ecosoberhouse.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/feed_images\/alcohol-overdose-symptoms-and-antidote-img-2-768x512.webp\" width=\"306px\" alt=\"rock stars who have died in the last 10 years\"\/><\/p>\n<p>It began with Gangsta Boo, the pioneering Southern female rapper formerly of hip-hop group Three 6 Mafia, who was found dead on New Year\u2019s Day at age 43. Read on to find out some of the other significant deaths in the rock and metal world that have taken place in 2022. As it turned out, he had been battling cancer for more than three years \u2013 something only his family and select friends knew. Though mostly remembered as the founding member and primary songwriter of The Eagles, Glenn Frey also launched a successful solo career following their disbandment. By 2000, he suffered from rheumatoid arthritis and his medications resulted to colitis and pneumonia.<\/p>\n<h2>Alex Napier (Died January 19,<\/h2>\n<p>This somber list meticulously compiled by pop culture enthusiasts pays tribute to those singers and bands whose voices were forever silenced by aviation tragedies. Singers who died in a plane crash not only impacted the course of music history but also left behind a legacy that transcends time. Eddie Cochran was a part of the first wave of rock &#8216;n&#8217; roll stars, along with the three musicians who passed. His songs \u00abSummertime Blues\u00bb and \u00abTwenty Flight Rock\u00bb became early classics in the young genre and very popular among his teenage fan base. His appearance in films such as The Girl Can&#8217;t Help It&nbsp;and Go Johnny Go helped his popularity grow further. According to John Collis&#8217; biography, Gene Vincent and Eddie Cochran, people close to Cochran said he became obsessed with his own death, believing it was around the corner after the deaths of Holly, Valens, and Richardson.<\/p>\n<h2>Rockers We&#8217;ve Lost in 2024<\/h2>\n<p>Members of the band were understandably broken when they heard the news. Perhaps most notably, the death of Foo Fighter&#8217;s drummer Taylor Hawkins was felt worldwide, and spawned two amazing tribute concerts. He never had the surgery because of pneumonia and was in a medically induced coma at Columbia University Medical Center.
